The M-K Foundation organized the Ceremony of the “WMO Professor Mariolopoulos Trust Fund Award” for 2002, which was held on May 30, 2002 at the University of Athens. The first prize was presented by the Secretary-General of WMO, Professor G.O.P. Obasi, to the following two scientists :
- Dr. Francois Gheusi for his paper entitled : “Lagrangian description of airflows using Eulerian passive tracers” of the Meteo-France.
- Dr. Boyan Iliev Tatatov for his paper entitled : “Experimental determination of the multiple-scattering effect on the lidar-signal polarization characteristics during liquid-and solidphase precipitation” of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences.
