WMO Professor Mariolopoulos Trust Fund Award 2004

The 2004 “WMO Professor Mariolopoulos Trust Fund Award” was awarded to the following two scientists :

  • Dr. Amna Jrrar for her paper entitled : “The dynamically-driven long-term trend in stratospheric ozone over northern middle latitudes” of the University of Cambridge.
  • Dr. Michal Strizik for his paper entitled : “Remote sensing detection of atmospheric pollutants by differential absorption LIDAR 510M/SODAR PA2 mobile system” of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.

The Award was presented by the Vice President of the Mariolopoulos- Kanaginis Foundation, Professor Christos Zerefos, Secretary of the International Ozone Commission and Mrs. Maria Kypraiou, Eparch of Kos, during the Opening Ceremony of the Quadrennial Ozone Symposium QOS2004, held in Kos, Greece on May 31, 2004. The Ceremony was attended by the f. President of the Hellenic Republic, the Minster for the Aegean and other Officers.
