WMO Professor Mariolopoulos Trust Fund Award 2008

The Secretary of the World Metorological Organization announced on January the international “WMO Professor Mariolopoulos Trust Fund Award”, 2008, for the best paper concerning atmospheric sciences of young scientists during the last two years.

The Awards were presented by the representative of the General Secretary of WMO, Dr Elena Manaenkova, Director of Cabinet and External Relations Department, and the Ministry of Interior Prof. Prokopis Pavlopoulos during the meeting “Climate Extremes During Recent Millennia and their Impact on Mediterranean Societies” in the building “Costis Palamas” of the University of Athens on 13th September 2008. The awards were presented to :

  • Sabine Wust for her study entitled “Non linear resonant wave- wave interaction (triad): Case studies based on rocket data and first application to satellite data” with M. Bittner
  • Noureddine Semane for his study entitled “An observed and analysed stratospheric ozone intrusion over the high Canadian Arctic UTLS region during the summer of 2003” with V.- H. Peuch, L. EL Amraoui, H. Bencherif, S. Massart, D. Cariolle, J. – L. Attie and R. Abida
