- The international prize “WMO Professor Mariolopoulos Trust Fund Award 2024” will be awarded at the beginning of the conference “International Atmospheric Circulation Reconstructions over the Earth (ACRE) Drought and Flood Conference” (http://www.physics.ntua.gr/corfu2024/ac.html ) on September 24, 2024, which will be held in Corfu.The prize will be awarded by representatives of the World Meteorological Organization (WMO) and the Mariolopoulos-Kananginis Foundation for Environmental Sciences (MKF).
The award winners are:
- Julia Mindlin for her work titled “Plausible Drying and Wetting Scenarios for Summer in Southeastern South America” and
- Sahil Sharma for his work titled “Future Indian Ocean Warming Patterns”
- The abstracts of the lectures as well as the final programme of the Conference “Integrity of Science” are now available on ENSSER’s website. The integrity of science is a conference about the conflict between public policy and independent science, in honour of Dr. Árpád Pusztai (1930 – 2021), Edinburgh (UK), 26 – 27 May 2023. - The Decoration of Commander of the Order of Honor was awarded by President of the Republic, Prokopis Pavlopoulos, to the Academician, supervisor of the Research Center for Physics of the Atmosphere and Climatology of the Academy of Athens, Professor Christos Zerefos (link).
