Conference Vision

The Adaptation Strategies to Global Environmental Change in the Mediterranean City and the Role of Global Earth Observations Conference envisions to:

  • develop adaptation strategies for Mediterranean-climate cities
  • identify best adaptation programs and approaches and evaluate their benefits and applicability
  • explore the potential of earth observations and thrust climate information transfer from the science to the stakeholder application realm
  • help local and regional authorities and stakeholders to gain insight on the role of EO-based services in adapting to climate chance impacts in urban hot-spot areas
  • enhance and strengthen European and international cooperation
  • promote awareness and tools for adaptation strategies
  • create new and strengthen existing collaborations among scientists, policy makers, elected officials, corporate sustainability leaders, engineers, planners, natural resource managers, NGOs and other experts
  • contribute to the promotion of action in Greece and the adoption of a comprehensive adaptation strategy

The international conference aims at contributing towards healthy Mediterranean cities that continually develop and improve their physical and social environments and expand the community resources that enable people to mutually support each other in performing all the functions of life and developing to their maximum potential.
