Colloquium/workshop aiming at studying the socioeconomic consequences to tourism caused by climate change

The MKF coorganised with the Bank of Greece (BoG) and the Research Centre for Atmospheric Physics and Climatology of the Academy of Athens a colloquium/workshop aiming at studying the socioeconomic consequences to tourism caused by climate change.

The colloquium concentrated on the policies of adaptation of tourism to climate change towards a new development policy. The colloquium took place on Tuesday 9 July 2013 at the main BoG building. It was attended by professors and representatives from the tourism section of Greece. It was addressed by the Governor of the Bank of Greece Prof. G. Provopoulos, state secretaries and distinguished scientists. It was been agreed that the Committee on Climate Change at the BoG will issue a special report on adaptation of tourism in Greece to Climate Change.
