Exhibition "THE PLANET IS CHANGING. Climate Change: The Threat to Life and a New Energy Future."

The Mariolopoulos - Kanaginis Foundation for the Environmental Sciences co-organized with the Hellenic Center for Marine (HCMR) the exhibition "THE PLANET IS CHANGING. Climate Change: The Threat to Life and a New Energy Future". The inauguration took place on June 6, 2012 at the Cretaquarium, Heraklion, Crete, while the exhibition will last till the end of September 2012.

The exhibition has been organized by the American Museum of Natural History in New York and it explains scientific facts concerning manmade contribution to climate change. Several exhibits are interactive to the visitors and the exhibition is accompanied by tutorial experiments for children, in which the basic principles of manmade greenhouse effect are displayed and explained by the staff of HCMR.

The President of the Mariolopoulos - Kanaginis Foundation, Professor Christos Zerefos, gave the opening speech at the inaugural Ceremony entitled "On the Coincidence of the Environmental and the Economic Crisis: Present and Future in Greece". The Minister of the Environment of Greece, Professor G. Tsaltas and local authorities from Crete where present.
