  • On September 19, 2021 at the anniversary event for the 30 years of Action of the Association for the Protection of Health and the Environment of the area of the Health Center of Chalandritsa, which was co-organized by the region of Western Greece, the Municipality of Patras and the Municipality of Erymanthos, the Foundation was represented by the Foundation Secretary, Professor Polyxeni Nicolopoulou-Stamati, as a key speaker with a lecture on the topic: “Climate Change and Viruses”.
  • The 15th International Conference on Meteorology, Climatology and Atmospheric Physics, COMECAP-2021, was completed with absolute success by the Meteorological Laboratory of the Physics Department of the University of Ioannina, the Hellenic Meteorological Society, and the Mariolopoulos-Kanaginis Foundation for Environmental Sciences.
    This is the largest conference on Meteorology organized in Greece every two years, which was held in Ioannina on 26-29/9/2021.
    The Conference was attended by 225 delegates from Greece and abroad (126 with physical presence and 99 online), 40% of whom were young scientists who presented original research papers on all fields of Atmospheric sciences. COMECAP 2021
  • On October 1, 2021 the Energy Committee of the Academy of Athens and the Mariolopoulos-Kanaginis Foundation for Environmental Sciences co-organized a day conference on: “Energy Autonomy of Greece in the Framework of the European Energy Policy”. The purpose of the conference was to study the possibility for the areas under carbonization to benefit from alternative technologies, such as the utilization of agricultural biomass for biogas production and the technologies of other forms of Renewable Energy Sources.
